N’Djamena – The “Grand Meeting of the People” canceled again due to “scheduling conflicts”

The “Transformers” political party announced last night that their request for the use of Idriss Mahamat Ouya Stadium in N’Djamena has been turned down again by the government. After the meeting was originally scheduled on the 6th of November but canceled since the government claimed that they had not received any request for use of the stadium, the party put in an official request on the 10th of November. The meeting, rescheduled for the 27th of November was intended to be just before Republic Day on the 28th.
However, the request by the “Transformers” was denied by the government as they claimed the stadium had already been requested for the 27th for a concert by Fally Ipupa, a Congolese singer. The concert has been advertised since the 17th and was possibly on the schedule before the 10th, but it’s not unlikely that some will suspect the government of foul play as the meeting was scheduled by an opposition party. The “Transformers” party states that “We will end up holding the Grand Meeting of the People in this great stadium of N’Djamena to make the voice of this risen people, who want and demand another way, heard.”
