Wakit Tama announces peaceful march on July 14

On July 10th the civil action group Wakit Tama announced their intention to mobilize for a “peaceful and supervised” protest.

This march is remarkable in that it is the first march by Wakit Tama that is permitted by the government. Most other marches by the group having been violently repressed with activists killed.

“ On July 7, a team from Wakit Tamma worked with officials from the Ministry of Public Security and Immigration on the make up of this demonstration and the idea was accepted, ”

Max Loalngar

The march is scheduled for Wednesday, July 14th, protesting the “monarchical evolution of power, confiscated by the Transitional Military Council, and the systematic violations of human rights.“
