Mahamat Idriss Deby on first working visit to France as Transition President

According to an official press release by the Chadian Presidency, CMT President Mahamat Idriss Deby is currently on a working visit to France. Transition Prime Minister Pahimi Padacke Albert, head of the “White Rooster” party, was at the airport to see him off on his “friendship and work” visit to Paris where he will most notably discuss “bilateral cooperation” with French authorities. It is to be noted that this is his first official visit to France as Transition President.

He was preceded earlier this week by the Chadian Minister of Defense who met in Paris with his French counterpart. The two ministers discussed military cooperation between Chad and France, the fight against terrorism in the Sahel, and Chadian military operations abroad.
